Hi, my name is Stephanie and I am excited for you that you have taken your first steps towards wellness. I am a mental health counselor and I have worked many years in the field working with many populations. I started working with children and individuals who had autism and developmental disabilities. I have background experience in helping people who are struggling with addiction or have a family member who is struggling. During my 8 year career I have worked with people struggling with low self esteem, suicidal ideation, domestic violence, life transitions, oppositional defiant disorder and borderline personality disorder to name a few. I enjoy helping people and being a part of their journey to a better life.
My counseling philosophy is based on the idea that in order to be an effective helper you have to treat multiple aspects of the person. I believe in a person centered holistic approach to explore the social, familial, work, stress related struggles that we as humans all face. Each of these parts make us whole and if one part of our life is out of balance it can throw everything off. I enjoy working alongside clients to help them develop a working plan for getting "unstuck". I use Cognitive Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral therapy and Person Centered, Holistic and Trauma informed methods in my practice. I enjoy working with people of all ages and I am great at working with children, families and couples.
If you are interested in taking the next step towards a better tomorrow feel free to reach out. I am easy to talk to and will provide a safe and judgement free space. I am currently accepting clients by teletherapy and video call.
